Poor Quality Images:
If
you are an AOL member, the images you see on the web might not be clear
and sharp. AOL automatically converts and compresses all the images,
which makes colors band and images appear grainy and blurry. There is
nothing web designers and developers can do about it, but you can fix
it in your AOL Preferences.
What You Should Do:
AOL allows you to turn off this compression and
you'll be able to see websites and graphics as they were intended. Follow
the instructions below:
If you're using AOL 6.0:
- Click on Settings, then on Preferences
- Under Organization, click on Internet
Properties (WWW)
- Click Web Graphics, select Never
compress graphics, then click OK.
- You need to Reload the websites or
restart your AOL software for the change to take effect.
If you're using AOL 4.0 or 5.0:
- Click on My AOL, then Preferences.
- Click on the WWW icon, then on Web
Graphics.
- Uncheck the box marked Use Compressed Graphics,
then click OK.
- You need to Reload the websites or
restart your AOL software for the change to take effect.
If you're using AOL 3.0:
- Go to Members and then Preferences
- Then click on WWW then on Internet
Properties.
- Uncheck the box marked Use Compressed Graphics,
then click OK.
- You need to Reload the websites or
restart your AOL software for the change to take effect.
